Competition Results for the Denver dance Jam 2016 with Adventures in Dance

The sky was clear as we pulled up to the doubletree hotel. Dancers were streaming inside to get started with the Denver Dance Jam. We trundled out costumes to the changing room and went back down to warm up for the competition.
Melvin Marcusson kicked the dancing off for Adventures in dance. He danced his American Rhythm Dances, including the Samba, Cha-cha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero, and Mambo. He came back in the afternoon dancing his smooth dances, including the Peabody, Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, and Peabody. Mel won all his entries, and took top silver male student for the day.

Robyn Collins and William Hooker duked it out in their silver international Latin dances. They danced against each other with Craig Tomazin and Holly Collins. In the afternoon Robyn took first in Cha-cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, and second to William Hooker in Jive. In the evening scholarship, William Hooker placed first, and Robyn Collins took Second.

Sabrina McFarland danced with Craig Tomazin and did a great job dancing her bronze smooth. Sabrina took first in Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, and Viennese Waltz. In the evening she danced the youth smooth 3 dance, and took second. We are extremely proud of how she danced.
Jessica Virgo burned the floor with Craig Tomazin. They danced Silver American smooth dances. They took first in their Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, and Viennese Waltz. In the evening they took second in their Silver multi-dance championship, and first in their silver smooth scholarship.
Robyn and William danced their feet off in the amateur two dance division. They danced silver Standard Ballroom Waltz & Quickstep (tying for first) and Tango & Foxtrot placing first. They then danced the American silver smooth Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, placing first in all dances. Last of all they danced their silver Latin Cha-cha & Rumba (tying for first) and Samba & Jive, placing first.
We are extremely proud of how everyone danced. You all looked wonderful and did your very best. Well done!
